Hump Day Bump Day: Week 30

*How far along?: 30 Weeks

*Total weight gain: I'm still not really sure.  Somewhere around 10-12 lbs.  Tomorrow's my appointment and I'll get the official number then.

*How big is baby?: The size of a cabbage

*Sleep?: Not bad.  The crazy pregnancy dreams sure are interesting.

*Best moment this week?: We got 15 steps out of Lillian today! That was pretty exciting.

*Movement?: Still kicking.

*Food cravings?:  Sugar

*Labor signs?: Nope.

*Belly button in or out?:  In, but nearly flat

*What I miss:  NOT having SI pain.  I literally can't stand or sit with weight on my left side.  It's torture.  I'm currently icing my butt cheek praying the pain lessens before bedtime :(

*What I'm looking forward to:  Getting this SI pain under control.  It's killing me.

Trucking along

Photobucket

It's so hard to believe we're already 30 weeks into this pregnancy. Even though the first trimester was so much harder this time around, the pregnancy as a whole has been so pleasant and low stress.

I don't know if it's because we experienced one of the "worst case scenarios" with Lillian's birth, or if it's because this is the second pregnancy, but this time I feel a sense of peace knowing that we CAN do this... whatever the outcome.

Every bump, thud, turn, stretch, roll I feel in there brings a smile (and sometimes a little grimace of pain) to my face. As far as we know, he's a healthy growing active boy and will continue to be that way upon arrival. The movement is so different from my last pregnancy. Lillian would move enough that I knew she was still alive, but it was nothing like this.

In a way I'm glad she was my first because I just didn't know any difference. I'm glad that the concerns we had with my first pregnancy were the typical concerns of a first time mom. And I'm glad that this time I can really enjoy knowing how typical THIS pregnancy is.

I know we're not totally in the clear, but I choose to remain optimistic and truly enjoy it. It may be the last.

VIDEO! Lillian Taking Steps

She's been taking steps for a while now (about a month or 2) but never really enough to get on video.  Once we got her Sure Steps orthotics she's been able to go a lot further.  Without them her ankles give up about 2-3 steps in.

She can walk longer distances holding one of our hands but that's much harder to do while taking video :).

Hump Day Bump Day: Week 29

1 Day late again this week.

*How far along?: 29 Weeks

*Total weight gain: Not sure.  Yesterday I was back under 10lbs in the morning and gained 4lbs by night :-/.  Who's dumb idea was it to include this question in a pregnancy week by week questionnaire?

*How big is baby?: The size of a butternut squash

*Sleep?: Sleep is still pretty good with my amazing great wall of pregnancy pillow :)

*Best moment this week?: Lillian took 6 steps by herself!!

*Movement?: Ok, here's the thing... this baby spent about 3 days wedged sideways in my belly this week.  The little booger was kicking and punching me in both my sides, while also jamming his hard head into my left and his big but into my right.  I usually like all the movement, but this was taking it a bit too far.  Thankfully today he's in a better position.

*Food cravings?: Fried Chicken, I finally gave in and had some tonight.

*Labor signs?: Nope.

*Belly button in or out?:  Still in! (and Lillian is fascinated by it)

*What I miss:  It's cinco de mayo and I'm missing margaritas

*What I'm looking forward to: Hopefully a third tri ultrasound!

Holy Exhausting Month!

Y'all... I.am.so.tired.

This month has been CRAZY busy!  As if you can't tell.  You know when I only have time to do short Wednesday updates that there's something big going on.  I wish I could say that things are going to calm down soon, but they're not.  Because on top of being crazy busy I've also been crazy procrastinating on the baby front.

So what have we been up to?  Oh, just a little trip to St. Louis to hang out with some awesome friends and their sweet husbands and babies! We had a great time at the Magic House and the St. Louis Zoo.  Really, if you ever get a chance to go to that zoo, GO!  It's amazing and beautiful and so well taken care of.  We loved it and will certainly be back.

(You may recognize some of these ladies and babies from other fabulous blogs that can be found in my blog roll!)

After our super fun trip we spent the week trying to recuperate from colds.  Lillian's was really bad and we had a trip to the ER, followed by another trip to the doctor, antibiotics, steroids, breathing treatments every 3 hours, etc.  She still has a bit of a cough, but thank goodness it seems the worst part is over.  We still managed to have a great Easter weekend and she's really starting to walk well in her orthotics.  She can take about 5 steps and then topples over, but at least we're moving in the right direction!  She rocked her orthotics and airwalks in her Easter dresses :).

The only shot of her "in action" walking

Aren't they cute?  We love having cousins the same age.

And you know that stage in pregnancy where you realize "wow, I'm huge" ?  I've definitely reached that point.  It's so surreal.  Yesterday was the first day I stooped down to pick Lillian up and then realized my legs couldn't straighten and there was no "up" happening.  I had to set her back down, stand up, and schlop her up to my hip while half grunting and smiling embarrassed that people could see me in all my whale-ness glory.  Yep.  I'm there.  And you can tell in this photo Phil took on Easter:

And last but not least, I've been SUPER busy creating accessories for Lily & Rose.  Today was my first spring craft show and maybe my last!  Who knew that just sitting at a booth for 8 hours could be so exhausting?  Usually I have a blast at these shows, but my cheeks are sore from smiling all day, my back is on fire from loading/unloading everything, and lets face it - I had to pee every hour and just wanted to stuff my face with the hot dogs and hamburgers they were serving.  Maybe I should stick to online sales until this baby makes an appearance?

These were a huge hit today, along with the wipes cases you can find here

Oh, and tomorrow?  Tomorrow is my first ever trip to Ikea.  Do you think they'll have a wheel chair I could borrow?  This Ikea trip may be a bad idea, but as long as I come home with a few things to finish Lillian's "big girl" room it will be worth it.

And there still ONE HUGE GIANT thing we've been working on this month - but I can't say what it is until it's final.  It's that huge. ;-).

Oh yeah, and we ended the day doing this.....

Yep, that's dirt in her mouth :)  oy vey
